How junior, or senior does the HNL base go? Would it be possible to get it HNL from the start? If not, how long would it take to get it?

You can live there from the start. Basing is just where you live. It's not like an airline domicile; seniority has nothing to do with basing. It's likely you would never, or at least seldom, pick up an airplane in Hawaii. You'll be riding an airliner to meet your plane wherever it happens to be. Due to the travel distance, only the 15/13 schedule is available to those who live in Hawaii.

How does XOJet comply with duty and rest when it comes to the black and white world of 135 ops when most operators consider those rules a gray area? Are you given assigned rest times?

From my short experience here they are black and white. 14 hrs of duty 10/24 hrs of flying max per day is exactly that. Run more like an airline than a typical 135 operator.

There's also added rest rules if we fly backside of the clock for two days in a row, etc.
