Fractional Vs. Corporate

What are the differences between Corporate and fractional flying. In your opinion which is better and why? Is the pay different? Im just trying to get an idea on which route I want to take. I know this is the fractional forum so I know it will be biased....so I just want to know what your opinion is.

Thanks for the help.

Corporate can be either really good or really bad depending on who you work for. Your best bet is to talk to pilots at the specific flight departments you are interested in.

There are some corporate departments that offer a truly great job, but they are very difficult to get into and you pretty much need to know someone to get the job. Fractional is growing and many companies that had their own flight department have gotten rid of it or shrunk it and gone fractional or part fractional. One of the good corporate jobs out is for a company that also does a ton of fractional flying. I recently talked to one their guys and he didn't have any problems with us, but he was pretty old and soon to retire so he doesn't have much to worry about, but I have heard of a lot of friction between their guys and the fractional guys at big events where we are all involved. One of the bigger problems with corporate flying is that the vast majority of jobs there have almost no job security since the first thing to go when times get tough is the airplane. No job in aviation is truly secure, but the fractionals are getting better and better pay now and more and more secure. Every time there is a terrorist scare the fractionals make more and more money with new customers.
