Come on man, maybe just use your inside voice when expressing your glee while the other guys are trying to figure out what the hell just happened.

And as was mentioned on the other site (or was it here), what if this order was placed simply to squeeze the competition out of business and the intent to take actual delivery does not exist? There seems to be a lot going on here, and it's way to soon to say if this is good or bad news.

We are having our annual State of the Union meetings this week with all the pilots coming through Sacramento...not sure if we'll be told anything of interest. Probably not...
I think this is all called free market business, isn't it. I guess I slept thru class when they said Apple's employees were "at fault" for causing layoffs at Compaq, or "blame Fedex" for Airborne Express's problems.

Ordering jets to squeeze out competition ? You mean like the 777 freighter of which FedEx is buying every single one ? You mean like that ?

This is called "business" and its a fact of life.

Again, this is good news and congrats to NetJets for being ABLE to acquire new jets and get rid of old tired inventory.

Only Falcon 2000 selling for under $12M is a pre-EX "straight" 2000.

Not plain and simple. It's not for growth, at least not in the US. The CL 300/605 combo WILL replace the DA. Bank it.

Agree

the 75 CL300s will replace the G-200s and some C-Xs. The CL605 replace the Falcons..

I assume the remaining Xs will be replaced with the Latitudes?

Probably a fair number of Excels, too.

Latitude doesn't seem like a good X replacement. Speed and range not in the same ballpark.

What is going on at Flex is the pilot's fault as much as anyones. They choose not to be represented or protected by a union which allows management to furlough on a moments notice without having to justify the decision. Flex treats their pilots like contract pilots. Sad but true. Maybe this latest round of furloughs which were a total suprise will wake up the pilot group.

Congratulations to NetJets.

When and if business and sales recover then some will turn into growth a/c... There is nothing unususal about this order... They made firm and option purchases. Same as when Santulli was buying....If there is a glut of owners buying in 2014, or so, we will see growth. if not these wil be replacements and we won't see the options exercised.

Either way it is a long way off before the options would even need to be exercised.

Until you know the terms of purchase, specifically how many used aircraft the OEMs take off your hands per new delivery, it seems a little premature to gloat so publicly. In the face if those that just lost their jobs and had their worlds rocked? Show some class.

If this order results in growth and recalls, then that is great news for everyone. But if it results in used aircraft getting turned in at a ratio that exceeds deliveries, then maybe you'll understand what I'm trying to say.

Who the heck is gloating? Everyone here that is happy (and rightly so) is happy that Netjets made an order. And made an order large enough to probably indicate the company is not going to dissolve in the next ten years... Since you obviously have not worked at NJA, lemme clue you in. There was a real discussion amongst pilots that maybe, just maybe, Berkshire wanted a permanently smaller NJA, OR even wanted to sell NJA. And by selling them I mean shrinking them enough to be affordable to a buyer. None of that looks like it will happen in the near future..

Get yourself some education on the state of NJA over the last 2+ years. when you do that then come back here and add to the discussion.
