Fortunately for you and your colleagues, PLENTY of airlines are hiring.

Could you explain why management is so recalcitrant and why life is so bad compared to the past?

Looks like adding new pilots.... Due to attrition or airframe growth? Are any pilots leaving? I assume the more junior FOs are looking around with all of the airline hiring. Article below:

They still have not recalled any furloughed pilots, so press releases like that are pretty misleading.

I'll give you one example: last day rules used to limit duty to 14 hours except for airline travel, which was limited to 16 hours. They had to get you home on your last day. There was no forced overtime. Now they just tell you you won't get home. Or they assign you a trip (live or repo) which gets you home, but is over 14 hours duty. This is common today.
Recalcitrant management: Bob S screaming FU,FU,FU! at the pilots in the last negotiating session. There really isn't much more to say.
So, as Puddy suggested, if you are young look for an airline. If you are too old for the airlines, look for a corporate position. But don't come here if you want to make a career.

80 percent captains between the 2 combined, 2 furloughs in the past, Ricci at the helm, no way I'm going there!!!!
2 acquisitions with no growth, he can't grow a worm farm!!!
I don't need to be there to understand the writing on the wall!!! Lol
Ricci is the KING of misleading information, let me know how those sub sonic jets fly Puddy. Lol

To add to my response, not all circumstances are the same. If you are looking for a career company, this is not it right now. If you are already here, have a short time until retirement, and many years invested in the company, staying to effect change instead of throwing away all your seniority may be the best decision. The typical company Tool response is: "Why don't you just leave?" But that is not the right answer for every situation. Right now, my answer is to effect change here. But my advice to those of you looking to start or further a career is to pick an environment that is cooperative rather than Flexjet's toxic environment. There are far too many cooperative, positive moves for the pilot just starting out.
