Agreed. That's how we learn. At least get your apps in with the good jobs now so you're not wasting anymore time than you have to. NJ has had people leaving new-hire Indoc for greener pasture recently.

You ALLLLLLLLLLLL said that? If that was true you ALLLLLLLL would have left by now and the upgrade time would be 12 months, like XO Jet.

The Feb 2015 class has about 50% of the people still there, the Mar class even less. I’m not making this up, there isn’t some hidden agenda. Why would anyone leave to go to XO? Everyone is going 121 major man, and they aren’t looking back.

We'll I guess I'm on my own then. That's OK. I quite enjoy my own company.

You aren’t on your own dude, there are plenty of people who plan to stay long term. But you have literally no idea what the job entails yet, and when the honeymoon wears off, you’ll be in here saying I told ya so. Get hired before you assume you know the job

I've flown 91k before and currently fly 135. The only difference is with NetJets I'll have more crew meals and more time off. I think I'll survive. I appreciate your concern though.

Glad to see you have it all figured out lol. You have never flown 91k and 135 like NetJets does. I promise you that.

Sorry Jetlife.
I hope you understand it isn't true home basing. Quite a few people, current NJ pilots included, don't fully understand the basing system. You will have a choice of 100 CREW BASES. The "Home Based Airport" system is slowly dying and only applies to certain "legacy" NJA pilots. If you don't live in one of those 100 Crew Base cities, you'll be driving to one. In some cases, right past an airport that another NJA pilot gets to use.

As with all things, CAVEAT EMPTOR.

Very important distinction. There's a "B-scale" of sorts with respect to domiciles, as folks hired a few years back have access to 200+ airports, while those more recently hired must pick from the Crew Base List. There's no opportunity to ever move to the Home Base Airport system, even with more seniority. To further complicate things, there are some airports that former-NJI pilots are using that no other NJA pilots can use.

For many, like me, it didn't make any difference (I live near an airport on both lists), but a new-hire should be aware of whether he'll be driving three hours past the nearby airport that his captain is using.

The basing is the best thing about NetJets. 2nd best is the healthcare (especially if you have kids).

No 91k/135 job will prepare you for the NJA schedule, especially in the small fleets.

Try to only order 2 crew meals a day. You will put on weight, everyone does.
Fatigue for all days scheduled past 12 hours.
Don't carry write ups.

I'm sure some others will chime in about how to make the best of the situation.
