Default Another grievance at Flex

While the MCBA gives us OT at time and a half for a duty day over 12 and triple time over 14 ON A DAILY BASIS, the company is paying our OT by adding the TOTAL MONTHLY MINUTES, then paying to the closet quarter hour. Another class act.

I don’t understand what you’re complaining about here? If you work 2 hours of regular and then 1 hour of triple it gets put on your paycheck as separate lines and is rounded up to the nearest quarter (you work 16 minutes of overtime then it’s rounded to 30). At the end of the month all your overtime is calculated and paid. Your regular overtime is combined and paid and your triple is calculated and paid. I can’t see what the problem is?

That is not the issue. If you work 12:46 on one day it is to be rounded up to 13 hours for that day. If you do it for 8 days that is 2 hours worth of ot. The company is taking all of the mins of ot in an 8 day (or however long your tour is) and then rounding to the next quarter. The mcba and the old CBA say that the rounding is to be done per occurrence. The company is saying that your whole tour is one occurrence. It is pretty clear that you get it for each time you go over 12 hours. That means the clock resets and the occurrence starts over. So in my previous example you would lose 1:75 hours of ot.

I haven’t had that issue but I’m not on a fixed schedule. My overtime has been paid according to the contract and the way it was intended.

Consider yourself lucky. There are enough people that had their pay "miscalculated", there is a class action grievance.

Are all the problems only with the fixed schedule?

If you aren't keeping extremely accurate records you won't know because there will be ot paid in all columns.

I also think that may have been the way that it was done by Flex but not at FO. We only had ot for day one but on each occurrence it was to be rounded up to the next 1/4. So if you worked 16 mins you got paid for 30. If you did it twice you got an hour. But I heard Flex would take your two 16 mins add them to make 32 then pay based on that. Does that sound familiar to you?

Many PBS guys have been shorted. Management are trying to count an entire rotation as one occurrence. The contract requires them to count each duty period as a separate occurrence.
