Home based companies?
 

What are the names of all the companies that have "home basing" ? Thanks.

A very good question to ask and one that I myself have wondered in the past. Being that I am not a fractional pilot, I do not know all the companies and their specific rules. Having said that, NetJets, XO, and DPJ (135) are the main ones that come to mind. Hopefully someone will fill in all the ones I do not know about.

Also by the way, virtually every Overseas Defense Contractor pilot job is home based with "Rotations" overseas. That is for another thread.

I've been trying to figure out how to get into the overseas work as well, but having not been a military pilot, it seems that's out of the question..

The overseas stuff is not out of the question, but you will most likely need a respectable amount of time in thte airframe they are hiring into. I know a ton of Army king Air or dash 7 Guard/reserve guys that do that for their full time job. They like them because they are used to the schedule and being gone. That being said it never hurts to know someone. And always, always apply to where you want to go, regardless of what times other people have that are getting hired. You never know unless you try.

Currently the reason that I am trying too hard for the fractionals is that I am doing the overseas contract work. As stated before, as long as you can deal with being away from home 2 months at a time and don't mind living and eating on a military base that does still get shot at by rockets and mortars then you should be good. After your 2 months "on" you then get 2 months "OFF". Not sitting on stand-by or some BS.... you are OFF. Of course you are not paid during that time but the money you make while you are on will be enough to make up for it. Even with 2 months of no pay at all, you will still make +/- 100K a year depending on which company and how your rotation schedule is.

If you are interested the company "Avenge" is hiring right now. They are a good company. The main beef people have with them is there is a TBA that they will aggressively enforce.

Home basing. Air Transport International (ATI) It is in the contract for Pilots. FA's are also Home based, but they don't have a contract.

Just left Avenge after 18 months, start at L-3 in a couple weeks.

TBA (training benefit agreement) means they say you owe them a certain amount of time because they paid to train you. If you break the TBA they can come after you for money. In my case I just left when my TBA was over and there was no problem.

Up until about 6 months ago Avenge pay was sub-par for the ISR industry. I was already leaving when we got a big raise. Pay there is now much better. Other companies have better benefits though.
