I have made my core living in another industry, totally unrelated to aviation. But for nearly 25 years I have flown for years on weekends, 3 day gigs as FOs all the way to managing two jets and filling the right seat with contract pilots. Some I worked with in both industries were miserable making good money and some were very happy even though they made little. The common thread that I have observed is that the people most happy in their jobs are those who put first those for whom they work (clients/pax) and have mastered the act of absorbing and dismissing the little injustices will all incur in our day to day lives. They have learned that we all have reason to be angry at the world and those in it....but they have learned that the world will never revolve around them. We are in a service industry. By definition we work/fly to serve. Once I saw this in others, I came to love both of my professions. Especially flying, of course. So whether its NetJets or GoJet, well maybe not GoJet, but lets say Great Lakes, its all what we make it. :-)

Come to B6 and move in base. NY, LA, Boston, SoFla. What is there not to like?
Soon you can be senior enough to hold commutable lines, and you can move again if you really miss the small town life. I would stay in base.
I flew corporate, not wanting to clean toilets and load bags anymore, it has nothing to do with ego. Of course to each his own.

Bottom line is I have to decide whether my QOL at work trumps my family's financial security in the short run.

Very tough decision...

Thanks again to all.

What is the yearly cost for health care with a family at JB? What is the max out of pocket?

How long will it take you to get back to even money at JB?

What schedule are you on at NetJets?

To the OP: there was a thread few months back that exhausted an almost identical subject with plenty of testimonials and opinions. If you are still in doubt, you should read it entirely.

After this last cheapskate stunt NJA has pulled I'm right there with you on hitting the door. It's another confirmation the company has lost all respect for its pilot group, and it's not going to get any better.
