How do you know this? Their response letter was never made public. Only "the Board will continue to consider the (Association's) proffer request. Accordingly, this case remains in mediation."

I want to see the rest of this letter.

We are NOT getting released. Anyone that has a shred of hope left (for a release from this NMB) needs to contact someone on the negotiating committee. It’s not going to happen.

Because one of the negotiators is a friend. I’ve known him for 15 years over more than one airline and while he definitely feels we’re not getting released (at this point in time/today) he doesn’t know that for sure. No one does.

Come on guy... What are you lacing that coooolaid with?

It's been 122 days since APRIL 27, 2018

Earlier today, ALPA President Tim Canoll requested the National Mediation Board to declare that an impasse exists and "proffer" arbitration in our mediation with Frontier Airlines, as the Railway Labor Act provides.
She ain't calling back.

The real question is are we as a union, going to go back to the table if asked by the NMB? Or are we just going to wait this out until the NMB can't park us any longer?

Because the only way we are going to get released is if we dig in and stand our ground on this latest ask. Which will feel like an eternity as 2020 rolls around.

What I mean is that 2 years ago we went in like Oliver Twist asking for a meager hand out thinking (wrongly) that Indigo would agree. That strategy obviously failed. Now we are demanding more but it won’t change anything.

Additionally, I’m in the “we aren’t getting released” camp. Kool-Aid, “never” is a long, long time so I won’t say “NEVER” and I don’t think anybody else is saying that either. I think the general consensus is we aren’t getting released “any time soon.” What’s soon? To me that means we aren’t getting released this year or next. We are more likely for the Company to need a deal to get meat in the seat before the NMB helps us.

I may be wrong, but didn't it take Spirit 90 days or so to get released? We are quickly approaching the 90 day mark. Probably just whishfull thinking on my part!

I’ll agree with that. I’m NOT trying to give the impression that I believe we are getting released anytime soon. I give it a 10% chance starting in jan and increasingly slightly as time goes on and also agree our leverage is the hiring needs. I don’t agree that our initial strategy was Ill conceived or a bad idea 2 years ago. I guess I was wrong but we will never know the answer will we? Are you suggesting that had we asked for more we would have been released by now? If not it really doesn’t matter right now. Indigo will never give a penny above what they have to legally unless forced to. That much is clear. I believe the change in the NMB was our biggest issue. Alpa was concerned about it months ago and rightly so. Also we didn’t go in with the idea that if we asked for $245 indigo would say yes (again it was clear they wouldn’t give a penny unless forced to) we asked for $245 so we could seem reasonable at the time (industry average with $245 being higher than several competitors) with the goal of getting released by the more labor friendly at the time NMB. If your going to call it a failed strategy at least know what the strategy was.

We're at least 18 months from getting released IMO.

The republicans are not going to release us any time soon. The appointed NMB people have their own career aspirations. Letting a union strike is not in their agenda.

The only chance we have is if people stop showing up. But it would appear that people can't take a hint.
