Life isn't black and white. It's all shades in between. Life's not fair and it's sometimes cruel. There are a few pilots here that are suffering financially for whatever reason (sick spouse, sick child, divorce) and have fallen on hard times...and that's their business not ours. These pilots need that extra income more than you and I. they're not helping the company, they are simply trying to make a bad situation better. "Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes."
A strong union only works when every member supports the union. Like the Borg used to say, resistance is futile. This is one the of the reasons managements can do what they do.

Mind games or not, they know if they run lean and there will always be someone to save their bacon. There were even people who picked up VJA/JRA on Apr 19. Not working and didn't go to the picket, yet...??? What the F...??
You know who you are, and everyone else does too. Picking up every VJA in sight, out of all three domiciles no less. You are trampling your fellow pilots. Congrats on that. If you have that much free time, try to find it your self centered heart and volunteer to help the union. Until that happens, you are just as bad as them.

So be financially prepared for a strike but don't make any extra money between now and then? Would you rather have someone save now or face a decision to cross or lose their house? If you haven't noticed we are negotiating with the NMB to grant us leverage so that we can then negotiate with the company, any small job action up to that point is really just making you feel good and may even be counter productive to the negotiation with the NMB.

Maybe we need a little accountability around here. 270+ pilots from across the country were in DEN, many of them flying in, on their day off. People like "DH" think it's appropriate to capitalize on this and bail out the company for some measly VJA. Unbelievable.
And for the record you don't need to pick up VJA/JA in order to save money for a strike. If you need to do that you're doing something wrong... spend less, budget more, and maybe go speak with a financial advisor.

That guy is still on probation. Union said no probies allowed at the picket. Additionally, the union said to fly to cover the flying of your brothers and sisters that were at the event.
Good job calling out a fellow pilot for doing exactly what he's been told to do by the union.
You personally owe that guy an apology.

Well, the captain who picked up the VJA is not on probation. Capt "D" is a Feb 2014 hire. He also lives just north of Denver. Disgusting.
Oh, and if people could quit sharing pictures for the Winning newsletter, that'd be great...

I apologize for divorces, bankruptcies and sick children; picking up extra time will not heal those issues. Picking up extra time like this hinders your whole agenda as a collective bargaining entity.

I think it would be wise to delete your post calling him out.
