Worst case, the company drags those negotiations out as well. In the award I saw no deadline. In 45 days I expect ALPA to go to the arbitrator requesting an extension to his retaining jurisdiction over the case. With no clear deadline I'd call this a moral victory.

Of course the company will drag their feet. The arbitrator set 45 days to get it done. It will take all 45 days to get it done. But in the end, I do not see any extension coming. The pendulum swung in our direction today. Unless the union is completely unreasonable with our ask, the company is compelled to comply. If they stall and this goes back to the arbitrator, I foresee penalties mounting against the company.

So now that the union knows how much money Indigo made during that time frame, the fact that the company negotiated in bad faith and has to negotiate now, as well as the judge not implementing the proposed sub-par rates, it is time to propose industry average rates for that time period. No reason to ask for less.
