Commuter Parking Policy
Can someone help me out here because I'm a little dumbfounded. I was just told by the CP's office that they won't provide a letter verifying employment for crew members to purchase a commuter parking permit. To be clear I'm not trying to get the company to pay for the permit.
F9 is my first 121 job, but surely this isn't common practice in the industry to not provide documentation for your employees to buy parking passes!? I commute out of DFW and I'm not sure what to do about parking now. |

Email/call HR and ask for an employment verification letter. Just like buying a house or a car. They get those requests all the time.
For a monthly parking pass, your airline ID badge should suffice though. |

I was told that they have too many crew members to keep track of and no longer provide the necessary documentation. Then was quoted an excerpt from the contract. 2.1 B. PARKING The Company shall provide parking at no charge to the Pilot in the Pilot's Domicile. The Company shall provide transportation to and from the parking area to the Operations area. Parking shall be paved, lighted, and secured. |

She said they now only use some program called "InVerify" I think. I'll try and go up there with just a badge and see what happens. |

I've been told the same thing from the chief pilot's office! It seems ridiculous to me! Anyone have any info? They are literally making it extremely difficult for people to get to work! Intentionally! But don't miss a showtime, because then you have to do a carpet dance! I am forced to commute out of an airport with 5 flights a day, instead of 13 a day, all because the CP's office refuses to fill out paperwork!

To verify your employment you have to first log on to Ultipro. On the front page, there is a FAQ link for InVerify that walks you through the signup process. Follow those directions. (Here is specifically where you sign up: https://inverify.net/ManageIncomeKey.aspx).
Basically you create an account and then the person who requires verification logs in and "pulls" your information using your SSN and Income Key. However, I'm not sure how much luck you're going to have asking the parking office to go through this. I tried to see if I could pull an unofficial copy for myself but it wouldn't even let me register so I gave up. |
They only pay for your parking at your base.
Not sure about DFW but if that's not your base some major airports don't give you access to employee parking. You'll need to buy a monthly pass to your local park and fly place. Most have discounts for airline employees. That's the 121 world. Buddy at American has to park at off airport parking at the airport he commutes out of also. You don't need anything from the CP office for that. |
