Disappointment in CPO
Every day your pilots are breaking their backs keeping this sinking ship afloat.
Not one single aspect of the operation supports them. FAs are writing pilots up, rampers are walking off the job, gate agents are a revolving door of contract workers, wheelchairs/strollers are non existent, no answer from ops on gate, dispatch is overwhelmed and unable to do their job properly, no catering at most stations, and maintenance is the biggest ******* show I have seen..... ever. Yet you turn your back on the one group that has any ownership or shred of pride in this company. College educated, passionate, many here 10+ years, and when their not busy patching the holes created by management's inept ability to run an airline, they want to unwind with family (vacation). You have now taken that away from them, and left them with nothing but a feeling of complete abandonment. Coming from a military background one would think that integrity would be in the vocabulary. However, as soon as mgmt throws a tantrum we are quick to turn our back on the very group we claim to represent. We could get a Delta contract plus 50 tomorrow, and not a single thing will happen to our operation. Until a management company that actually wants to run an airline takes over, flights will continue to cancel. The moral is at an all time low and not because of the contract, heck we've been doing it this way for 11 years. It's because we are watching this great thing we created get destroyed in front of our very eyes with not one person stepping up to say this has got to stop. So to all the flight crews out there, thank you for doing what you do. Show unity, help each other, laugh, and say no thanks as the gate agent tries to board you before you read through the 8 MELs you have to look up. And to the CPO, support your crews and gain back their respect! |

Umm I don’t think it’s the CP that wants to cancel vacations and make life hard. Unfortunately they just have to deal with all the BS.

They don’t have to deal with it. They chose to when they accepted the job of CP with a low-life group like Indigo. If any of them were naive enough to think they could help make it better for the pilot group, they should be disabuse of that notion by now. I have no sympathy for them. They chose their side, and if any of them have any sense of honor they will resign. If they don’t, then I will take that as endorsing the actions of Indigo Group against Frontier pilots.
This. I totally agree 100%. |
You’re kidding right?
The CPOs job is to deliver scalps, plain and simple. When Massa says whoop dem field slaves cuz they ain’t picking fast enough, well, they leave the Plantation house, pick up a whip on the way out, calla a Kapo, lash the untermenschen to a pole and start whipping....that’s what they do. Working for Indigo and dingleBarry is either a preplanned pilot career suicide or an intentional act of malice. It’ll drive you to drink, you may even end up nekked in a dumpster, in you birthday suit, or at a Taco Bell flying you willy....our current CPO will do what he’s told to do, nobody in the plantation house wants the blood splatter of whipped slaves on their white suits anyways...capice?

Glad I don’t work for fontier even more after these posts |
So stupid... Would you rather we get JP back in there or someone who is going to go on a power trip and intentionally screw us? You know the company didn't have to hire CPs from the seniority list, right?

I thought it was kind of funny. I would rather have our current CP than our old one. But that isn’t saying much.

SC is a puppet for Barry and his cronies. A good leader is the first one on the battle field and the last one off. He’s someone who wouldn’t ask anything of his men that he himself wouldn’t do first. A chief pilot should have a pair and back the pilot group. SC is afraid of his bosses. He would roll over all of us to keep his little office job.
Arbitrarily setting limits on sick calls after the fact (because Barry cracked his whip) is not affective leadership. A real chief pilot would have listened to managements complaints, met with ALPA leadership and discussed possible solutions. If they came to an agreement to begin disciplining pilots for “excessive sick calls” they should have first informed the pilots that it had become an issue. An email stating from this point forward we will begin documenting the number of sick days used in a rolling 12 months, 20 days is the threshold before disciplinary action will be taken etc. As a show of good faith and since no one was aware of their transgressions everyone’s slates are whiped clean as of today. SC’s leadership style is changing the culture of this airline. It’s one thing to work for 40% less than our peers but we should not have to tolerate the disrespect shown to our pilot group over the last few months. He is going to end up with a dumpster fire and not a single pilot willing to **** on it to put it out. |
What do you think the total Airbus time our CPO and ASS. CPO’s collectively have? I’d be surprised if they averaged 1000 hours each.

Interesting question. It’s comforting to know that I can call on hundreds of hours of experience if I need a helping hand making a judgement call some dark and stormy night. In all seriousness, if I’ve got a tough issue that deals with something other than “how does the company want me to handle a sticky policy decision,” I’m far more likely to call one of my longtime friends for actual piloting or aircraft operations advice. Edit: Sorry, I read your post as asking about PIC time. I’d have to look at their hire dates to estimate total Airbus time. I know for the longest time—during the time they were FO’s—FO’s weren’t flying a ton of hours. The system CP is the most senior of the bunch and he’s been here approximately 4-1/2 years. The Chicago guy *was* the most senior, but he no longer holds the position. (Apparently it’s tough to maintain a SIDA badge with a deferred sentence from felony charges.) I’ll let my rant standd re: PIC experience. I really hate to waste a good rant. |
The CP’s office is called the high mins club for a reason.
