Yeah, in this day and age you can't go on record saying something like that (and almost EVERYTHING is on the record... ). Airlines are hyper-sensitive about their brand image. They aren't monitoring all of our personal comms (except maybe here on APC), but if your name + your employers name gets in the media in this kind of context, they are going to throw the book at you simply to distance themselves.

And they can probably fire you faster for this than for bending metal... hard to claim am honest mistake for something like this.
