Fly safe. If something is broken write it up. If you can't read a sticker on the engine, write it up. If a screw is missing, write it up. With all these maintenance problems right now, it's not the time to "wait til Denver to write it up." If something is broken, it needs to be fixed. Review every MEL before boarding. If you're fatigued, call in fatigued. Review their contractual duty times email very carefully and don't let them violate the contract (they emailed it for a reason). If you're sick, call in sick. Be safe. Don't say anything stupid on a recorded line. Make sure the FOs know what to look for on a walk around. I'm not saying to intentionally slow down the place, but we need to be really safe right now. Don't let anyone rush you to do anything.

I’ve never seen maintenance this bad before. Just when I think it can’t get any worse, the next trip proves me wrong.
Again....
This pilot group doesn’t have to do anything. The company is doing it all themselves.

No one will save us. The NMB, prospective new hires, ALPA, the training department, no one.
This is our fight. The line pilot. It's time we did the work, make the sacrifices, dont let things slide because its easier, or its "go home day." Follow the FOM and the CBA. This is war!

I will add this -
Do not pick up open time.
Do not pick up your phone on your day off.
Do not pick up your phone to call dispatch or maintenance.
Do not volunteer to be a check airman.
Do not volunteer to be a sim instructor.
Do not volunteer for any other * “special projects”.
Do not write any more Silver Bullets.
And, last but certainly not least, DO NOT COME TO WORK HERE!!!
Give absolute hell to any of your buddies who do any of the above. Be civil, but give them absolute hell. Talk to them. Educate them. Convince them.

Statements like the above contributed to us, Spirit, being sued by the company and ultimately eroding our bargaining position. Be sure that you are not suggesting any illegal job action in the interest of giving your team the best shot at eventually gaining the contract you deserve. It’s not fair to be hamstrung by the RLA and dragged through the muck of collective bargaining so long but it’s the process that’s in place and there are no shortcuts. I hope you guys hit it out of the park. Don’t get hamstrung out of frustration on here.

This is not what we want at F9. Picking up/swapping is what we do to improve our QOL. I will do what I continue to be motivated to do. If the parings are garbage I will try to get a better one. If my day off is not worth my time to do a SLC turn then I won't. Statements like what you just said are not welcome. If I want to write a Silver Bullet I will, but I currently don't want to because my friends deserve better. So hush with your telling people what to do. Let people do what motivates them. Right now there probably isn't much motivation but I am not about to start telling people what to do. Each to his/her own. Statements like what you just made means your are either management or this is your first time in contract negotiations. Best to leave it to the ones who know better.
