I have been on the property for ground school and heard that there are 6 guys from last class that did not make it through. That seems kind of high since last class had less than 30 people. They are scaring some of us with all the stories of failures and the intensity of the instructors. I heard that they don’t have enough instructors and that line training is delayed. Can anyone confirm this? Some of the guys were also talking about an Emirates Captain that washed out.

Do yourself a favor and when you're getting close to doing your checkride, send flight ops training an email and request the base you would like to do IOE out of, as they will give your initially awarded base otherwise (despite what anyone in ground school tells you). Out of 50 people in my class 1 washed out in training, and 2 are still on hold waiting to see if they can finish training (poor performance). About 25% busted their checkride on the first attempt, but almost everyone passed eventually.
