The conversion of neo orders to xlr's is just that. The company has not publicly or privately stated what the intent for those aircraft 5 years from now is. And I'm not surprised, the intent of aircraft 6 months from now is barely known to them.

Wasn't a "July announcement " just total rumor anyhow?
And as far as the XLRs go, I guarantee you they don't know what they are going to do with them yet. Markets, economies and politics change quickly. 5 years from now is a long time. The market to Hawaii, Europe and S America could be very different from what they are today.
Or we could fully load a 321XLR in NY and fly it to LA with a 150kt winter headwind.
