We had a 2 year FO credit 251 on 78 block in May. $31k month for him.

And before anyone calls BS, I’ve seen it (as well as many others) with my own eyes. If you’re willing to work the system at F9, you can make just as much as any other FO, lower rates and all.

You could be a captain at Frontier by time you flow in 3 or 4 years (depending on how many times AA shuts down hiring to deal with training backlogs caused by mass displacements as fleets change and folks re-bid). You’re still about be 7-10 years away from being an airbus captain at AA.

There are plenty of WO pilots who would be very hesitant to turn down a job offer at a major with the way things have been going at the WOs and the uncertainty of the financial future at AA long term.
Or it could take years longer to upgrade at F9, because it is based on growth, not the more secure retirements at AA. Right now upgrade at AA can be had in less than 5 years and dropping, anything in aviation is a guess, but AA has an ancient pilot group (i think around 58 years old average).

I believe it. Did he have vacation though? Or get awarded a check airman line and get displaced for the month? That definitely makes a difference. Working the system to credit more than 125 hours a month with PBS next year will be much more difficult.

2 d/p, 7 vac days, training (sim and rgs), 220 credit before the application of premium. Just flew with him. Took a pic. Sim and rgs are the only drops that won’t pay premium. He only blocked 73. That’s what stood out to me.

It is going to be more difficult in pbs but we did make it easier for fo’s to get displaced. Fo’s should now be able to cherry pick check airmen sequences after the captain bid closes. The company can only withhold 75% of historic training block (6 month look back I believe?) don’t have a contract handy. Before it was 100%. Having said that I really don’t want to speculate to much on pbs because it’s still being negotiated and we know the company reads this.

Going to frontier for anything other than a type rating to jump to a major quicker is an exercise in delusion. The contract is somewhat better than before but it lags greatly behind most other majors. Even some regional airlines. Anyone who tells you otherwise has a personal motivation and isn’t helping you. Go to American OP.

To say some regionals have a better deal is telling me clear creek has no clue. Personally, I would disregard anything this guy spews. I’m not saying it’s a better deal than AMR for you personally. Use the calculator. It really takes emotion out of it. I have no motivation whatsoever in your decision. It’s yours to make. Good luck.
