Is an ABS light trivial? Check engine lights sometimes are but I just shows the vehicle isn’t maintained. What else is broken?

No an ABS light is not trivial. I guess it just depends on the light. If I were a front seat passenger I’d also be nervous if an airbag light was on. Check engine lights don’t bother me though. My mind immediately went to the check engine light because I’ve been driving around cars with that light on for years and there’s nothing wrong with them. I know why each is on and it’s not worth the trouble/$ to fix.

Before the point gets lost, we need to be reporting unsafe driving most importantly. Speeding, tailgating, hard braking (generally from following too closely), general aggressiveness toward other drivers, etc.
