Will F9 ever resume classes?

So the Pratt & Whitney engines are proving to be more reliable compared to (or relative to) what exactly? It’s weird you bring it up, but now I’m interested. They’re relatively more reliable than they were after their introduction but if you’re comparing them to the GE Leap1A I think you’re misinformed.
The GE Leap and the P&W both provide advancements in engine technologies which will give F9 and NK an industry edge with an ability to remain ultra competitive moving forward as each airline deploys more NEO’s.
But GTF technology is where engine design is heading for best fuel burn efficiency and I’d be surprised if GE/Safran doesn’t have their own GTF in design.
From Forbes:
LEAP is the most fuel-efficient conventional turbofan ever built. GE expects to be producing over 2,000 per year by 2020. However, it will be competing against Pratt & Whitney’s PW1000G series of geared turbofans, which are not conventional engines and offer intrinsically better fuel efficiency.
I was really just responding to Aero1900 claiming F9 has more potential to NK. Both airlines have great future potential.

Stomper, I meant no disrespect to any Spirit folks. I have a good number of friends there and I certainly hope Spirit has a bright future. In fact, I assume that we may merge some day and we will be a true force in the industry.
I was simply offering a glimpse of hope to the Frontier guys swimming in the pool. The fact is, Frontier has nearly 200 aircraft on order. Until Spirit places an order, we have more future growth planned. Of course, Spirit could announce a 200 airframe order tomorrow. I'm only speaking to what's known today.
In regard to our NEOs vs your NEOs, let's compare because I don't know what the Pratt fuel burns are.
I would say that at 350, on a fairly heavy 320 our CFM NEO motors burn about 2200 lbs a side.

To much weight is also being assigned to aircraft orders. It cost almost nothing to secure a aircraft order. A airline has no real commitment until a airframe is 18 months out for delivery at which point progress payments start to involve real money.

That most likely depends on how the deal is structured. For example, RAH was paying several million annually to keep our initial neo order of 80 ac. That was well over 18 months at the time.

Not necessarily...The memo he’s referencing was about NK hiring. We are all making friendly wagers on when the company (F9) will realize they are behind the power curve and the pool isn’t what they think it is.

I don't keep up with hiring at Spirit, but that sounds like Spirit had quite the lull in hiring. The worrisome lull at Frontier has just been a few months, and that has been par for the course the past several years during the summer. There are 205 pilots on our list with hire date of 8/6/18 or later, and 119 of those this year. Frontier will resume hiring soon and I'd expect if we come back to this thread next year the number of new pilots will be similar to the previous 12 months or possibly slightly more.

One thing to keep in mind is that all the Frontier orders are Indigo orders. There’s nothing that would keep indigo from changing those numbers allotted to frontier anytime they want. Not at all likely, but possible. Both companies have a good future I think.
However for me personally. I interviewed at Frontier nearly a month and a half before I interviewed at NK. I will have over 300 people below me at NK before F9 even calls with a class date.
