Our current uniform looks like some puppy-mill flight school or low-tier regional. (queue ReserveCA and substandard contract references).
Maybe if we wore wings we wouldn't look like flight instructors.

No man, mormon missionaries wear an assortment of ties. Never a solid black. They wear a white dress shirt 6 days out of the week, the tie is the one form of expression they have.
They aren’t as boring as airline pilot uniforms. Ha ha

I don’t disagree but that’s our uniform. The CPO tried to change it to include a tie and wings and a better cold weather jacket. Indigo did not want to pay for it. However that doesn’t mean everyone gets to create their own version of a uniform because they don’t like our uniform. Go fly to an airline who’s uniform you like, otherwise you knew coming here that was our uniform. It really bothers me how non uniform we are as a group.

Easy Tiger, nobody is “creating” a new uniform. The striped tie is already part of the approved uniform. Saying “go fly for another airline” for a new uniform is like saying “go buy a new house” because you don’t like the paint color.

Have you seen our pilot group? The striped tie that were recently created are sharp looking and yes approved. However, how many people have you seen with their own version of a tie, the Columbia/Patagonia/north face or leather jacket. People wear their own pant style. Now you know I’m right in saying that although we have a great bunch of pilots our uniform standards are lacking at best. I don’t notice such things at other carriers. I personally would love to ditch a tie with short sleeves, that just looks dumb.

We keep arguing that we need to be paid as legacy pilots. Shouldn’t we at least look the part?
