Meet The Chiefs

Hey all, I'm a long time lurker, first time poster... not that anyone cares. But, I'm an F-15 (both types) guy and have over the past few weeks become extremely interested in Frontier. I signed up for the MTC event in Chiraq. Does anyone have any insight into exactly what goes on at the MTCs, and what to expect? Is it a sit in your chair in receive mode type of event? Interactive?
Should I have my app completed (most of the way there already, only just decided about 2 weeks ago to get serious about moving on from AF), or bring a resume and a good attitude?

Really, any insight is appreciated. Thanks!

I'm not exactly sure what they do, but I'm sure that you should treat it like a mini interview. I would have your application completed and bring a fresh resume. I'd dress like you want it and be prepared for answering a few quick questions.

Our system chief is former AF, so chatting with him should be easy. Bring a smile and a good attitude and read up on the company

Also when your there even when your not in front of a recruiter make sure to socialize and be chit chatting with other candidates around. They do count that as a factor. Ask questions.. show interest.

It’s been rehashed a million times before, but with your background it’s worth mentioning again...

F9 has a reputation for turning guys away because they think they’re only going to stay “until Delta calls”. So have an honest, thorough and believable answer the the imminent “Why Frontier” question. It’s likely the single most important part of the interview process at F9.

What he said. And then as soon as UA/DL/AA/WN calls, bail!

I would argue that for some people staying off your phone is the hardest part...I had 8 in my interview group and 4 of us got the cjo...the 4 that didn’t had their cell phones out half the day instead of interacting with the interviewers and other applicants. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing but there are really people out there that are just that dumb I guess.

Unfortunately, some people when they get nervous/feel socially awkward at social events they bury their heads in their phone to cope.

It's 100% wrong, and they need to fight the urge to do it. Especially when they're at a job interview. But, I wouldn't necessarily call them dumb for it.

Call me insensitive, but when it comes to a job interview the first thing you do is shut off anything that makes noise or distracts you and leave it either in your hotel room or briefcase regardless if you’re socially awkward or not. That is of course if you have any interest in actually getting the job....These guys were doing it to kill time in between the different parts of the interview, and to me that’s dumb. Especially gets on my nerve since I have friends who have not gotten the call yet, and have invested a lot more effort into preparation without even getting a shot.

To anyone that attended the latest MTC, did you hear back with an interview date?
