Average Time to Hear Back
Hello all, I'm new to this particular group on the forum. I recently applied the other day and was curious about how long it was taking people to hear back about their app. I also heard it was basically "mandatory" to go to a meet the chiefs to get a callback. Is this correct?
Currently at an AA wholly owned with about 2500 TT, 450 TPIC, also about 2,060 as a flight engineer on a Navy aircraft ( not that this time is important). I've got about 4 -4.5 years to flow to AA and just keeping my options open. I know that being on the right side of the hiring curve is huge. Hoping to be on the right side of Frontiers! I appreciate all the info! I'll take any recommendations to heart! Thanks. |

New guys will know more, I've been out of the loop for a while, but I could never find a rhyme or reason for how long it took the guys I recommended to get a call. They say their methods are changing, that HR is taking a bigger role, whereas it used to be the pilots, mostly. And hiring is now only beginning to pick up after a summer standdown. It may not be mandatory to attend a hiring event, but you should probably proceed as though it was. Hit it from every conceivable angle. Attend an event, scour your contacts to get internal recs, if you can, and consider professional interview prep if you get the call. Best of luck! |
Yeah, the meet the chiefs seem to really be where most people are getting interview invites. Whoever told you it’s mandatory is probably right, definitely try to go to one if you can.

Haha, thanks! I appreciate the info! I'll definitely be on the lookout for the next MTC! Overall, you guys pretty happy there? I'm sure its better QOL than a regional.

No comparison to a regional. It's not even close. Some of the operational irritations can remind you of the regionals, but the QOL is by orders of magnitude better.

7 weeks, w/o a MTC event.

From what I've observed, 2500TT is the minimum they'll even talk to people now. They were turning away people with less than that at the last MTC.
That being said, my app was in for 9 months, no call, then 2 weeks after the MTC, boom, invite. Once you get the invite, the job is yours to lose at the interview. They seem eager to get to know and hire as many as they feel will be successful. If you get an invite, I would highly recommend using a consulting service that knows the ins and outs of Frontier's hiring. It's different from a lot of other major's hiring. Lori Clark is the gold standard it seems. Specifically for the SBI, the information she provided was invaluable. Good luck! |

How does it differ from any other majors hiring process.
My point was if you're going to interview, be as prepared as you can and focus your preparations on what you're doing. That's all. |
