I’m scratching my head. Any idea what, or who, was the impetus behind the hat condition? Is there anyone besides Delta that still mandates a hat? And, why is F9 trying to revive a hat in such a oblique way?
Honestly, I think there’s a lot bigger “professional appearance” issues to address than new jacket with hat compliance.
Has anyone ever been called out on anything regarding uniforms or appearance?
Anyone have access to mandhuniforms.com to check the price of a hat?

It depends how militant they want to be but I’d expect at least next year they will be. The first occurrence would probably be a warning but the second could result in some time off. I’m thinking I won’t be getting the jacket. That’s not a risk I want to take.

Story I heard was that during the FA contract negotiations they did a picket at the new GO. (Shortly after one of ours.) A few pilots showed up to the FA picket event.
During the picket, it was cold and snowy. Biffle and some other upper management guys went outside and tried to deliver hot chocolate to the flight attendants. Anyhow, most of the pilots that attended were wearing hats and Biffle thought that they look very professional and he liked it. So he started saying that with our new contract he was going to require the hat. Obviously he didn't get that in the contract so now he's trying to get the hats this way instead. And I'm sure that our picket events with high uniform compliance and hats had the same effect. You know he's got to be thinking "we gave them a huge raise, they can wear the damn hat"

I'm guessing the company weaseled around the CBA by making it "optional"? At the very least if you optionally buy the jacket, they should buy the hat since it's a required item.
It's a big no thanks from me.
You'll pry my north face from my cold dead hands... Because I had to wear my blazer on the walk around during the winter. Im not paying $2-3xx for that and a hat.

Of all the jackets they had to pick a crappy looking janitors uniform jacket. I’d love to wear something warmer then the blazer during the winter but won’t waste my money on a hat/jacket combo. Once my pre/post and flight time is over I’m on my time. I’ll wear what I want.
