No Not a word.
various execs have, for at least the last couple of years expressed a preference for day trips. It has the potential to cut costs significantly. Hotels especially.
the company holds it cards close. It’s not to make our lives harder; we’re in a competitive environment.
a day trip airline like Allegiant or EasyJet requires many more bases than we currently have, and there’s not much chatter of that at present.
the line construction is a result of current demand. They’re trying to make money in an environment that’s a shadow of last year. In fact; I’m my base there are 3 & 4 day trips showing for February, there were none this month.
PBS allows us to turn 3 two day trips into a six day, albeit overnighting in base more than commuters would like.
QoL isn’t a secret. Live in base. I recognize that’s easy to say, but it’s how most people in most industries work.
we’re lucky to have the option to live elsewhere.
by the 3rd or 4th quarter things will have largely normalized; and if the projections prove out; the recovery will be robust.
in the meant time; we just have to keep rolling with the punches. Everyone has been doing a great job in difficult circumstances, and most of us can see the light on the other side...

Do you think they keep Denver around? As someone who is interested that maybe someday I’ll get the opportunity to work at F9, it would be nice to not relocate. Yeah, I know Denver is where seniority goes to die.

Denver isn’t going anywhere. But as you’ve already alluded to...plan to commute when you upgrade. Forever.

Day trips AND the downsizing of Denver has, as you said, been talked about for a couple of years now. I fully understand the disappointment and irritation about all of this from people with some time on property. However, it may sound bad of me to say, but anyone hired in the past two years have little room to complain. Recent hires whining up a storm was rampant on the FB group a short time back. If you were hired in the last couple of years you either: A) Didn’t do your homework and/or ask the right questions before coming here. Or: B) Knew what was likely coming down the pipe and came here anyway.

Frontier is going to all day trips? When is the Allegiant merger happening?

They seem to be taking a page out of the Allegiant playbook, that’s for sure. I’m curious, how many multi-day trips does Allegiant actually have? I know there are a few, but what percentage of total lines would you say they make up on an average non-covid month?

None. The only multi day trips we have are a very occasional overnight charter, and reserves getting shagged around the country. Less than 1%. Most of the charters are even long multi leg 1 day trips. 99.9% of the trips in the bid package are day trips. We also have 20 bases. I can list them if anyone cares.

Maybe you’re not into the D, but a green slip is a green slip.
