Q2 2021 Profit + 10 additional 321's
During July 2021, the Company signed a letter of intent with two of its leasing partners to add ten additional A321 aircraft through direct leases, with deliveries beginning in the second half of 2022 and continuing into the first half of 2023. The additional A321 aircraft will enable the Company to boost its ASM growth rate as recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic continues.
Not bad!

Yea these numbers are ok, but we have a loooong way to go. You can blame anyone or anything, but the fact is staffing above and below and catering are all abysmal leading to a subpar product. If you have to raise ticket prices to pay the people, so be it.

it’s a agreement with a leasing company, not a new Airbus order. The company has been shopping the used market for a while. They would even like some white tails. At this point you couldn’t get new 321’s from Airbus in a year.

It doesn’t appear to be an order conversion. It’s a letter of intent with our leasing partners to lease 10 available 321s that need a home. However, you’re not totally wrong. As I understand it, a good number of our 320 orders have, in fact, been converted to 321s leaving us with a fleet of over 50% 321s by the end of the delivery period. But the 10 321s we all learned about today are not conversions, but additional growth aircraft.

Ok, gotcha. They have been talking about snatching up cheap airframes to add to the fleet for my 6+ years and it has never happened. Realistically these haven’t shown up yet either but the talk is good news.

"The grand essentials to happiness are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for."
The constant teasing of new bases, new airplanes, new hires, etc. gives the group something to hope for. Management will use it as long as it works and every so often a new base will actually appear and it'll lend credence to rumors of the next base.
It's human nature and there's nothing wrong with it, I just think that we should all be aware that there may be a bit of gamesmanship involved and take all this with a grain of salt.
