It shouldn’t, but it should turn to a vote if a return favor is given, like extension of the new CBA deadline (which I was referring to).
The company raising first year pay for recruiting purposes is not a favor to us. It’s language they wanted. We wanted to make sure they couldn’t pay more to a probationary pilot than a year 2 pilot for obvious reasons. It’s mutually beneficial language. No return favor will be given.

I agree. I am merely replying to OpenClimb who is worried about a CBA Delay. I was never the one that thought we have to be careful with this.

Default Red eye override

I doubt seriously a red eye turn will ever paid as a two day. A red eye override definitely should happen. One thing for sure that we should have is min day. 10 hour three day trips should not be happening.

There’s only about a 150 ish on first year pay. No way the other 1500 will vote for that, as they shouldn’t. I also don’t think there will be an offer to increase first year pay to what UAL gives right now, even though on first year pay, on min guarantee, it will only cost the company an extra 340k per month i.e. nothing.

.
To me the biggest thing to try to negotiate once the CBA is up is min calendar day pay instead of a min duty day pay. No point doing 2 red eyes for 10 hours

Amen!! Goodbye 10hr 3 days!!! Not acceptable.

I feel the company would probably offer hotels for new hires first before increasing first year pay.

They need to stop with the heavy handedness on disciplinary issues and sick calls if they want to keep attrition to a minimum imo.

Per the 12/1 Seniority List: Added 19 pilots, seniority list grew to 1694 from 1984, therefore we lost 9 pilots, 1 to retirement + 8 resignations/terminations/washouts.

The system bid for November indicated 26 new pilots meaning we had 7 no-shows.

You will not get 10 hours for red-eye turns, both AA and DL have carve outs for later than midnight returns not qualifying as multi day, and JB and NK have carve outs for red-eye turns, so af far as the NMB is concerned that bar has been set (at ground level).

Maybe not a 2 day, but a minimum 50% trip rig for turnaround trips starting after 9PM (so not a single leg SLC DEN), or trips finishing after 1AM should definitely be put on the table. Something towards that direction at least, just like 3 day 10 hour trips should not be a thing.
