Is the pilot domicile going to a dual base with MDW or Chicago closing entirely?

Is it possible that they are simply moving all pilots to a MDW base? There still hasn’t been any official communication from the company or ALPA. I will wait until that happens before putting 100% certainty into a hastily crafted email from a local AFA that was posted on a pilots wives Facebook page

The memo should be out sometime today.

My wife noticed a post on the FB pilots wives page that had some details. Ask your SO if they are on there.
Looks like closing ORD as a pilot domicile, opening MDW back up for us and running a dual base for the FAs.

edit. Saw it on FB so it must be true. Probably better to wait for official information before listing your house for sale.

Frontier Airlines Shakes Up Chicago and Houston Air Travel with New Service from Midway and Hobby Airports

America’s Greenest Airline Lands at Chicago-Midway and Houston-Hobby This Spring

DENVER – Jan. 18, 2022 – Low-fare carrier Frontier Airlines (NASDAQ: ULCC) today announces 13 nonstop routes from two new airports: Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW) and William P. “We’re excited to strengthen our position in two of the five largest metro areas in the country with 13 new routes and two additional airport options for our customers flying to or from Chicago or Houston,” said Daniel Shurz, senior vice president of commercial, Frontier Airlines. “Frontier’s growth in 2021 was nothing short of remarkable and our team continues to look ahead at new opportunities to expand ‘Low Fares Done Right’ across both the U.S. and our rapidly growing international network. Frontier is focused on more than low fares. The carrier offers customers the ability to customize travel to their needs and budget. For example, customers can purchase options a la carte or in one low-priced bundle called the WORKS. This bundle includes refundability, a carry-on bag, a checked bag, the best available seat, waived change fees, and priority boarding.

The airline’s frequent flyer program, FRONTIER Miles, lets members enjoy many benefits as well as the ability to attain Elite status. Like the airline, FRONTIER Miles is family friendly and the program makes it easy for families to enjoy the rewards together, including family pooling of miles. FRONTIER Miles is aptly named because you earn one mile for every mile flown – no funny formulas at Frontier. Whether customers travel a little or a lot, they will find FRONTIER Milesrewarding.

) is committed to “Low Fares Done Right.” Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, the company operates more than 110 A320 family aircraft and has the largest A320neo fleet in the U.S. The use of these aircraft, Frontier’s seating configuration, weight-saving tactics and baggage process have all contributed to the airline’s average of 43 percent fuel savings compared to other U.S. airlines (fuel savings is based on Frontier Airlines’ 2019 fuel consumption per seat-mile compared to the weighted average of major U.S. airlines), which makes Frontier the most fuel-efficient U.S. airline. Frontier is also committed to families enabling children 14 years and younger to fly free through the airline’s Discount Den travel club on qualifying flights.
