QOL
What are the typical trip lengths in Florida bases? Finishing up IOE at my first airline, time to start throwing apps out again.. 2 biggest factors for QOL for me are shorter trip lengths and being Florida based. I also don’t mind sitting perma reserve in base if it means I’ll fly less. Sorry if that’s too forward 😅

Agree 100%. With the increas in day turns, being closer to the airport is much more important than it used to be

I come from the NW down the turnpike to 417 and 95% of the time have no issues at all. Back when I used 528 it wasn't a problem either.

This is what I was thinking too, I live in TPA so that is my ideal base but don't mind MCO either. My main worry is that I have read Frontier is notorious for closing bases. I know your guess is just as good as mine but does anyone here have any insight on Florida bases, ideally TPA, staying open long-term? Does the company have more reasons to keep them open or close all together? The reason for asking is I don't know if the JB/NK merger will force F9 out of Florida. TIA

JB is acquiring NK, not really merging. JB has stated; the ULCC part of Spirit will die. The only thing that will live on are the planes and crew, in new paint and uniforms. F9 will then be the only "big" ULCC in Florida.

Notorious for closing bases? They’ve closed one since I’ve been here (over 8 years), ORD. It was beyond stupid that they did, especially if the rumors are true that they will
likely open MDW for pilots next year. Not sure if that makes them notorious….
