I’m pretty sure Frontier doesn’t care about the safety of its passengers or crew. As long as somebody is buying a ticket, they’d gladly schedule flights to a war zone to make a buck.

Heck, I bet they’d dock our pay and schedule a Section 19 hearing based on “reliability” if one of us was kidnapped from the crew hotel.

A lot of these “ooga booga scawwy” places aren’t really that scary. Use some common sense. Street smarts. I remember years ago a captain told me about 135 layovers in places like CUU. Unmarked tinted car to a hotel that was in a walled compound etc etc.

Meanwhile I did CUU layovers at my regional, and they were a blast. Total opposite of how he described. The hotel was nice, much more upscale than its USA counterpart. No fences, gates, guards. Hotel picked us up with a van clearly marked with the hotel logo. When we got there, it was in a super nice quarter of town. Imagine the upscale shopping district in whatever city you live in, that’s what it was like. Nice cars, Tesla chargers, steakhouse that rivaled US prices after the exchange rate (plus plenty of good local cheap food too).

Maybe don’t go wandering around after sunset. Maybe don’t go far from the hotel. Don’t wear your socks and sandals and fanny pack with money hanging out the front. If it’s a nice resort with gym and restaurant and amenities, frankly there’s not even a reason to leave in the first place haha. Stay on the wrong corner of ATL airport hotels, and you’re probably in for just as bad a time as you would in Montego Bay or Kingston or whatever Caribbean layover you’re worried about. The world isn’t *that* scary. Turn off the 24hr news and use common sense.

Dramatic much? What does that say about you if you continue to be employed at such a company?

Hey bra, unprecedented hiring at all the legacies, with immediate upgrades and better contracts. Feel free to escape that slave ship you’re driving.

Q1. It says I'm stuck. Too old to give up 19 years of seniority to start over. Believe me, I think about quitting every day. Right now is not the time. I have a very nice life outside of work and I'd like to enjoy it now and into retirement. I could quit any day and live a normal life, but I think I'd be bored with that so I stay. I'm sure you were just trying to be hateful, so I hope you're not put off by a mature response.

Q2. You equate my job to driving a slave ship and accuse ME of being dramatic. Hmm. OK. I'll just step aside so you can continue to build your credibility with such insightful posts.

you literally said they would dock your pay and section 19 you if you were to be kidnapped in your hotel. That is very mature of you. 19 years on the job, or 19 years old? Because those histrionics are what a teenage would say.

And I’m not being hateful. Come on over to AA and sling gear on the widebody.

Does F9 alter their ops based on these sorts of advisories?
If this scares you stay away from DTW, SFO, LAX, LGA…

I thought it was kinda funny knowing BB, and I’m a lot closer to my deathbed than my mom’s birthing bed. If you’ve never worked at Frontier I can understand why you didn’t get the joke. Anyway, I’ve got similar 19 year seniority and thought seriously of leaving. AA or United. I’ll probably just stay here. I don’t have that many years left.
