Good evening, gentlemen

Sad Spirit pilot here. Is Frontier hiring? If so, how many a month? It looks as though frontier uses airline apps, is this correct?

Any suggestions on how to get hired ASAP?

As of right now we are hiring but not at a huge level. I as well as many others expect that will change here shortly with Spirit now gone, but no official word yet.

get the app in ASAP and secure an interview…if you are close with anyone at Frontier you can ask them for a “golden eagle” recommendation. I’m not sure how much weight that actually holds but it is a thing.

I would guess they will be flooded with applications so the quicker you can get yours looked at, the better.

FWIW- we have a pool full of cadets. But when NK first furloughed we ran an abbreviated training program for NK pilots and put them at the front of the line. Sure it upset some cadets but we got solid pilots. I hope we do that again soon.

Thank you for the reply. I realize many may scoff at the idea of going to Frontier but a job anywhere is better than unemployment.

How long to hold a FL base?

. We had people get MCO and MIA during training, but TPA will take some time.

TPA will take years just to be the plug with no movement. You will either get MCO out of training or it will take a year plus.

Unfortunately, I have zero contacts at F9. Is there any F9 guys that will go out on a limb and help a Spirit Pilot out. I have filled out AirlineApps and published. I’m looking for someone that might be willing to chat me on phone about F9 and possibly put in a LOR.

I assume you have time at a regional? We have lots of guys here who came from ASA and ExpressJet. Did you fly at any of those? (No need to answer) If you did, get in touch with them. I have no doubt they’ll help you out.

It’s amazing how small this professional community is. Everyone seems to know everyone, lol. I already received messages from guys I have flown with a long time ago that I had no idea were at frontier.

We are all just a big happy extended family in this career.

You’re high time and ex-Spirit. Certainly throw your stuff in at places like F9 too, but any of the legacies should pick you up in a heartbeat.

hate to break it to those who claim exp is what gets you hired at the legacies. You have to pass the vibe check more than the hours on the logbook. Cultural fit is highest priority among legacies. Some people have already been rejected by the legacies and then they refuse to go. Maybe this pilot prefers the day trips. No matter what. Maybe keep your answer confined to what they’ve asked for. Which is help to get to f9. Let them choose their own adventure.

A couple of Frontier guys have reached and offered to help and one in particular has gone way above and beyond to help a complete stranger. This tells me that Frontier has some really good dudes. I have followed everyones advice and hopefully, I can get an interview soon.

How long F9 gets back usually after submitting app?

I don’t know how much hiring and upgrading we are going to do for a bit… attrition has slowed to just a trickle lately.

They are doing Meet and Greet in Las Vegas at PAPA convention. May be worth while to register and get face time with recruiters.

For me, it took about 7 days in January to get the assessments and two days later to receive invites to schedule an interview.
