it's official FAPA is negotiating lower rates

Yet we continue to stick our heads in the sand....and say it will never happen to me.

Lets make this more accurate...
FAPA is participating in concessionary negotiations, but pay rates will not be reduced.
RJET is attempting to restructure out of court.
Unfortunately, we have become pretty adapt at negotiating concessions over the past few years. We exited BK with all of our work rules in place and wages were supposed to snap back to original book in 6 months.
Unfortunately, BB is looking $120 MM from a few "key stakeholders".
FAPA is a stakeholder.

"The Board has engaged a restructuring advisor to stress test management’s new business plan to see if it is makes sense and to help execute the restructuring effort if the Board decides to make the attempt." = Seabury.
BB's last letter is so eerily similar to Tim Hoeksema's that it's frightening. He even uses the same phrases such as "key stakeholders". That's YOU, pilots. "Sacrifices must be made and YOU will make them. We are all in this together.(except for the sacrifice part)"
I swear it's like being in the movie Ground Hog Day.

I'm a little hazy on the history there - did the pilots give concessions, and what would have been the outcome if they had done differently? It might be useful information for us.

Wow, concessions won't save Frontier. It isn't a problem of labor wages (which are among the lowest in the industry) but rather a revenue problem.
Frontier is a niche player, much like Jet Blue and Alaska, what those carriers have that Frontier sorely lacks are code shares and other agreements with other players. Frontier is going to continue to be muscled out of the market by more powerful legacies and Southwest. They need a partner because they will not make it on their own with the current business plan they have.
Maybe if they adopted an ULCC model like Spirit or Allegiant they could carve out their own niche but right now they are trying to be a premium LCC (like Jet Blue or Birgin America) and straddle the gap between WN and UA and it isn't working given their small size.
They either need partners (Jet Blue and Alaska) or to be ridiculously well financed (Virgin America).
FAPA - Concessions will not save your airline, don't even bother.

No, we (Midwest Pilots) did not give them concessions. They imposed them anyway, by locking us out illegally, and giving our flying to our Republic. As bitter of a pill as the Eichen Award is for Frontier pilots to swallow, any FAPA-induced delays to implementation only keep the window open for BB to do the same thing to you, and I don't care what kind of scope you think you have. But what do I know? I got stapled to the bottom, even though my date-of-hire puts me in the top 15% of our amalgamated circus.
