I remember flying into Monroe in the 72 one night with 1 passenger, moved her to first, carried her bag out to the entrance, wished her well, and a please come back. You are right, what could go wrong...

The state, through LED, is apparently behind the concept, having signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the developers, agreeing to kick in $50 for every net new passenger the airline brings to New Orleans.

Giving Frontier $50 per passenger? Am I reading this wrong? So basically Louisiana Tax Payers are gonna subsidize a mini-EAS setup, with A-330s.

How do you just decide to become a major hub overnight, build it and they will come?
Sound like someones college paper.

You need A330's to feed the service to Dubai, Hong Kong, and Beijing. With a break even load factor of only 65%, it's a guaranteed money-maker.

The whole thing could be the "on purpose self inflicted wound" to finally disappear in to thin air (independence).

This was already tried once with PRIDE AIR. Fell flat on its face and a lot of pilots got talked into coughing up 100k+ for start up cost. Nice looking airplane.
