Program Details:
2 years of service at G7
Captains must have completed 1 year after upgrade
no checkride failures in the last 2 years
no more than 2 failures in the last 5 years
no disciplinary action in your records.
if you meet these criteria you are then eligible to opt in to the program and conduct a "talent assessment" exam and have an interview with a spirit recruiter.
There is still no mention of how many will flow each month so there is still no "clearly defined" career path as the big shiny ads would have you believe. Also this program seems to function more as a retention tool for gojet than an actual career boost.
If an FO with 2 years service decides not to risk the notoriously high failure rate to upgrade in order to protect their flow chances then they lose the opportunity to log PIC time and increase their marketability and GoJet wins.
If that same FO decides to upgrade and fails, now they can't flow to Spirit and they have a failure on their records which decreases their marketability and GoJet wins
As a captain I see a much greater threat from opting into the program than the benefit of a flow to spirit. By opting in to the program I feel I am essentially painting a target on my back. I have just provided GoJet with incentive to fail me on a checkride event. If I get in a disagreement with ops regarding an extension or MEL or some other situation, they now have incentive to place a disciplinary record in my file. Why would I opt in to a program that places me at higher risk while offering no clearly defined benefit?
Furthermore, Why would any pilot think of joining a company that has a program in place that offers no clearly defined career benefit, but gives the company a huge incentive to fail/discipline you in order to assist their own retention efforts?

From what I can tell over in the spirit forum it sounds like they are having to hire a lot of 135/91 guys because the 121 people are holding off on them hoping for offers from places that pay double. That and they don't want to go in there with their high failure rate in initial and then possibly sink their chances with a legacy.

Are you really saying that Gojet would flunk people on checkrides just because it would be in their own best interest?
Are you saying that Gojet would retaliate or use the threat of retaliation to keep pilots in line and to allow Gojet to violate the contract?
But Gojet keeps telling everyone how they have changed, how they don't do those things anymore! Shouldn't everyone believe their worlds of how they have changed and ignore the 35 years that Hulas Kanulas has been ****ing on anyone he had to to make a dollar? History is not a good predictor, is it?

Interview invite
Interview invite emails just went out yesterday for Spirit/GoJet Pathway program. Anyone get one yet besides me? Curious how deep in seniority they had to go. I wonder if this going to be a typical Spirit interview.

I must disagree that any good points were made. The facts are accurate, but the conclusionary defamation is wholly mere sensationalism. SEPfield is saying that management is out to screw pilots for short-term gains. I have given management plenty of illegitimate reasons to retaliate against me and yet even in probation, here I stand. I certainly hear the complaints about HQ and can see validity in them. Still, over and over again, GoJet has shown a strong emphasis is moving pilots in, moving them up, and moving them on. Of all the reasons to come to GoJet or avoid it, petty, childish management is not one.
