Usually 90 days. There were a few finished after 4 months.

Plan a 90 day training footprint for everything.
Single occupancy hotel rooms with kitchenettes.
75 hours min guarantee pay through training.

You know most people like three letter acronyms today, like IPA. But I think the abbreviation of choice at GoJet is DUI.

A large percentage of the pilots I have been hiring lately have thousands of hours of international untarnished experience flying aircraft such as A380 and B777, they had to go international after being furloughed from regionals in 2008/9. We have also been hiring a bunch of pilots with years of experience operating for other regionals. These experienced pilots are coming to GoJet for an opportunity to return to the states in the Part 121 environment (most international flying is not considered Part 121), or progress to Pilot In Command from a regional where they have been sitting stagnent in the right seat for years, all in an effort to better their careers. I am proud of the pilots we have been recruiting. I was a pilot for a multi-billion dollar corporation and for one of the wealthiest families in this country before choosing to come to GoJet. Those jobs are not easy to attain, I did not "settle" for GoJet nor are these aviators.

Can you talk about the Captains sitting right seat? I was under the impression that Direct entry captains who are "new" on property have a more likely chance of sitting right seat then someone who starts as an FO with GoJet and upgrades thereby retaining the seniority? Also regardless of seat they are still being paid as Captain but not getting the PIC time.

First time poster on this thing.

So I’m a DEC that has been here for over a year.

And Yes, you are used mainly as an FO here. Paid the same regardless, but most trips are FO trips. Depending on base and seniority it varries how often. I am one of the more lucky ones that have done most of my flying in the left seat, but now that we are running so low on FOs and we are hiring so little, I’ve been back to FO flying.
So, since 2018 started I’ve done about 80% in the RIGHT seat and 20% in the LEFT seat.

Recruiters will tell you, that you can pick up trips.

That is a yes and no answers.

You can, but it isn’t easy. Scheduling will give you short call on all your longest group days of reserve every month and having only 2-3 days off between reserve days makes picking up trips a challenge.

MX has never been an issue for me. A MEL here and there. People say it was crap years ago and I have no reason to think they are lying, but today it isn’t bad in my view.

Manegement bashing is sometimes deserved ,yes they can be a bit unresonable at times. But JUST IN MY OPINION, not fearmongering.

All in all. GoJet isn’t a bad regional. Just not a great one. Better options are available.

For the DEC people that are looking to come here. You are an FO paid as a captain that will be used in the left seat when needed.

I will say we have fun people to fly with. Very few bad line pilots here.

Just my 2cents.

Don’t know why anyone would go to go jet to be a captain qualified first officer or whatever they call it and fly 80% in the right seat when they could go to Skywest, Envoy, or Endeavor (all reputable places), upgrade during Indoc and fly 100% in the left seat???

Yea. Completely agree. A year ago that wasn’t the case. Now though it is. Go elsewhere I’d say.
