United put Gojet in Denver because GJ promised they could do the Aspen flying and provide competition to Skywest. After 4 years, Gojet was not able to put a training program together that the FAA would approve.
So now the news is that their 25 700 will be converted into 50 seat CRJ-550s. Who would not want a plane with a soda machine!
The flying will be ORD and EWR. I assume Denver will close?
I'm told GJ now wants pay cuts for this flying and the union is actually discussing that with them! I can't seem them accepting that but I can see Gojet imposing that on them for the next 3 years until it finally gets settled.
Of course that means people will work for 3 years, leave right before it is settled, and then not get the back pay. That is pretty standard but Gojet takes things like that to an extreme.
In the end the Union will declare victory because they will get 3 years of the backpay from the forced lower pay but most people will get nothing because they will have moved on.
I hate things like that.

When they were building the pyramids, did an announcement that they were going to start work on a new pyramid make all the slaves excited? I guess if they had the mentality of pilots they did.
"You are going to be hung at dawn, but you will be happy, its a new rope out to the factory!" Only pilots cheer at that.

Do any other regional offer the 180-day early seniority to military pilots?
I happen to know a few military pilots looking to separate in the next 12 months. Having a senior number with a regional 5-6 months out with a class date somewhere in that range would be a nice comfort blanket while praying that a legacy calls.

If you do, you will be risking your career and each day hoping that you don't, through no fault of your own, end up in their cross hairs. There is plenty of accurate information on this forum that explains why it is so bad. You can look at the internet and see the lawsuits that have been filed against them and that they lost.
Please do your research.
The gentleman above believes that being given 180 days of seniority when you get here is some great deal. I guess it is better than nothing, but not much, and not worth the price you will most likely pay.
There are so many great regionals hiring now. Don't do this to yourself and your family.

They won't say anything until the very last minute. If management says something too soon employees will start looking for other jobs and leave Gojet before management is ready for them to leave.
I suspect in 6 months several of the 550s will be out on the line and operating you'll be able to gauge when DEN will close and EWR will open.
