Look at flight options where you will be commuting from to see which base is the best.
When I started I was told 2 years for Reserve as a DEC. However I’ve been here 6 months and I am approximately 2 lines away from holding a line provided they don’t reduce lines in STL. Looking at the bids, it will probably be closer to the 2 year mark at the other bases.
Yes we have PBS

So plan on 1-2 yrs reserve as DEC in Dtw? Does GoJet have short and long call?
Some guys are flying a lot some are not? Is there still a lot of right seat flying?
What can a DEC expect to earn 1st and 2nd year?
Thanks for responses!

Another friend of mine went to Envoy as a DEC and he is going to be on reserve quite a while, but he doesn't fly in the right seat. Pick your poison I guess.

Why Gojet? They are losing their United flying. I don't think they will go out of business but I think their United flying will be moving to American somewhere down south, DFW or Miami, maybe St Louis.
Skywest will give you credit for time at your past airline and FO pay at Skywest is almost the same as captain pay at Gojet when you take into account the bonus, overtime and work rules.
My understanding is Gojet's sounds like the same but is not. If you have 3 years at another airline, at skywest you start on 4th year pay, then go to 5, 6 etc. At Gojet you start at 4th also, but then you stay at 4th until your 5th year at Gojet.
Skywest has something like 16 bases and is adding more. They treat their people right. Don't forget Republic and Endeavor.

Flying and not flying on reserve is dependent on the season. As far as I know. Most DEC are flying a lot. I have heard of a few FOs not flying a lot. You can also bounce back and forth between left and right seat. For the month of NOV I think I about 70% leftseat. Where in Oct it was more 50/50.
