Default ExpressJet ERJ-175SCs & GoJet’s Future

United announced that ExpressJet is receiving their 25x new 175s.
United announced the retirement of 25x CRJ-700s next year.
GoJet’s CPA with United is coming to a close.

Hypothesis: GoJet is about to get axed and divided by United.
Discuss.

I feel bad for all you guys but nobody can say they did not have fair warning. It's just that the warning didn't come from Gojet.

When the VP of OPs leaves to take a new hire position at 1/4 his salary that should be a warning sign.

Don't go to a bottom feeder because you won't have to commute, because when they go under you have to commute to the new airline after losing a year or so of seniority.

Don't go because of the bonus because of 2 reasons, first, they don't give it to you, they file bankruptcy, fire you, whatever it takes not to pay it. Second, when the pay is less than the other carriers, it is not really a bonus.

Don't forget to call Randy tonight and thank him for his leadership, leading the way to other airlines. Set your alarm for 4 am so you don't forget and you can reach him right before he heads to the sims.

Ouch. Well, you could always finish training, jump to ExpressJet, and get the type-rating bonus.

And it's not like you are losing much seniority in the process. Now the next person in line to upgrade who now isn't going to get that - that person is going to really be po'd.

When Gojet announces it's shutting down a bunch of other airlines are going to swoop in to cannibalize the pilot group for their own staffing needs. So long as you're on the line (current and qualified) and don't have an industry wide rep for being a @#$% when giving orals and check rides, you'll get picked up somewhere very quickly. Maybe even with a nicer bonus.
