Default Gojet Compares Capt Pay to Skywest FO Pay

More bad news for Gojet.

A federal judge recently came down hard on Gojet after a jury determined Gojet had interfered with a Pilot's rights under the FMLA. Gojet terminated the pilot while he was on FMLA leave. The VP of Operations, Steve Briner, had announced his plan to terminate the pilot in an email shortly after the leave started and instructed Chief Pilot Randy Bratcher and base manager Tracey Ryan not to communicate with him by phone or email. They complied.

The judge awarded 376,000 in backpay and similar damages and also stated he would be awarding future damages. He requested more information on the difference between Gojet Captain pay and Skywest FO pay.

In Gojet's filing, they stated that an 11 year Gojet captain would earn $428,004 over the next 5 years and a 4th year Skywest FO who stays an FO, will earn $377,321 so that the difference will only be $50,683.

Breaking Gojet's numbers down to per month means, an 11 year Gojet Captain will make 844 less than a 4 year Skywest FO per month.

I wonder what the projected earnings of a Gojet new hire versus a Skywest new hire are?

I take it the judge ignored GoJet’s amounts in making the award. What did the plaintiff ask for?

Sing the song:

"All we are saying, is give Gojet a chance".

Must everything always be about money? So we fall a little short of the others in pay and work rules. I went to Gojet the same time a friend went to Skywest. My pay now is MORE than 50k a year LESS than my friend's pay. I believe they are saving it up for me! It evens out because he works fewer days per month. What? Does this make him happier than me? Well, yes, but he is dating a beautiful Skywest FA.

The money is not in flying, it is in recruiting your friends. Get a 10K bonus for a pilot, Skywest only gives $1200. Get 5 friends here and you make 50k extra!

Skywest has so many more incentives than Gojet has. He gets between 6 and 7+ credit hours for a standup when the Gojet pay would be 4 hours. He flies trips getting well over 6 hours of credit per day and 7.5 on single day trips. At Gojet, 4.5 to 5, better if senior. It all adds up.

But Gojet has, "$51,000 FIRST OFFICER NEW HIRE BONUS
All new hire First Officers are eligible for a $26,000 New Hire bonus, paid over year one, a $15,000 bonus paid over year two, and a $10,000 bonus paid over year three." When it is paid over 3 years, is it really a bonus?

Gojet claims "Industry-Leading Pay" and "Outstanding Culture"

At Skywest, it is very big and getting bigger. They have 4800 pilots and are growing. You won't know many people. At Gojet there are only 550 pilots and shrinking. You will meet everyone soon and get that feeling of bonding that comes to people who go through a war together!

You can find Gojet recruiters on the 19th at

Unique programs.

Outstanding culture.

Meet GoJet recruiters to learn more about our industry-leading pay, tremendous growth opportunities, and First Officer new hire bonus, up to $56,000.

Email [email protected] or [email protected] for more information.

Gojet will give me 10K if I can get you to come here. PM me if I can help! Bring your friends over and earn 10K for each one you bring! Skywest will only give you $1200. Set your goals high, come to GJ, recruit just one a month and get your 120k bonus.

I believe GOjets filing.

Everything at Gojet is smoke and mirrors. They claim the “industry leading pay” and “outstanding culture” when just the opposite is true. The culture is more of fear and intimidation. They don’t mind at all firing you and then fighting you in court because firing you sends a message to every other pilot not to make any demands.

My friends Who went to skywest at the same time I went to Gojet are making $50,000 a year more than I am. Forth year captain pay at GJ is 76 per hour and 84 at Skywest. Gj you get a 3k bonus but about 10k in incentives at Skywest.

Hourly pay means nothing without productive trips. You’re lucky to get a 4 day trip with 20 hours when at SW my seniority I would get 24+. Work an all nighter at Gj get 4 hours pay when at SW 6.5.

So I think that GJ’s filing is correct. 11 year GJ capt pay is only slightly more than a 4th year Skywest FO.
