Leaving DTW this morning I was a passenger on a GoJet flight. Musta been the first flight for the jet because the wings were frosty. After pushback, I was dumbstruck when the crew skipped the deice pad and went ahead and blasted off. Is there guidance in your FOM that allows a departure with a certain amount of frost on the top of the wings?

I recall one famous crash where an air Florida jet crashed into the Potomac. Most on board died. If you have concerns of the safety of flight you should raise them the life you save may be your own.

If Gojet wants to become a decent airline, they need to stop firing everyone who takes FMLA, Military Leave, or who makes a mistake.
Message to Frosty, deice next time or you will get in trouble! Good luck at the new airline you will be at next week.

It may be common but it means something is wrong in the fuel tank vent system. The wing fuel gets heated and expands and forces its way past the fuel cap if the vent system has a clog. If you have a brand new cap that seals well the pressure has to go somewhere and might rupture a fuel line component. If a mechanic says it’s common don’t worry about it ask him to put it on MEL. He can’t and won’t.
