GOjet will have all 50 seaters, that way Trans States will have the scope to get their MRJ's!

Gojet's plan is to have 25 550s in service starting the second half of 2019 and finished by the end of 2019. They then say they expect to have another 25 in service by the end of the first half of 2020.
If you actually look at the Bombardier orders, there are actually no orders to build any CRJ-550s. The order is to reconfigure 50 CRJ-700s that Gojet will fly. Bombardier then wants to use the reconfigured 700s, now tabled the 550s to help it market the 50 seaters to other carriers.
Everything does point to Gojet as flying all 50 of the 550s. If so, that would mean that Gojet will be converting the planes it flies for Delta as well but moving them to United. Something does not sound right about that.

Gojet is not getting any new planes but is merely having all 25 of their CRJ-700s converted to the 550. (Gojet does not own the Delta 700s) United and Bombardier hope the plane will be popular with customers so that Bombardier will be able to open up the 700 line again as the 550. There are also to be another 25 planes of another unannounced regional that are expected to be converted.

The Bombardier/Gojet/United announcement seems to have caused a misunderstanding which made it sound like Gojet is getting 50 of the 550s.

Where are you getting your information from?
This website says they are getting 50 of the 550s, of which 25 will be additional aircraft. I read a number of 'news type websites' saying that as well.
I am not claiming that the GJ ones are "new" airframes...although the manufacturer says they hope to sell many of the "new CRJ550s".

Maybe because that's exactly what the announcement from United and Bombardier said?

Presently there are no 700s on the production line. So if they are getting them this year, they can’t be new airframes.

I didn't say they were new airframes.
I was just responding to LadyJustice' quote about the "GoJet getting 50 CRJ550s" statement being incorrect.
If it is: Every announcement, including those from UAL and GJ are also incorrect...because that's exactly what they're both saying.
50 of the "new" CRJ-550s (converted 700s)...I assume (like you) that those are all converted 700s, no new ones - since that would take too long to produce.
Several of the news stories said 25 delivered in 2019, and 25 by the end of 2020. At least two of them also said 25 existing GJ 700s would be re-configured, and the other 25 would come from "other airlines." (Not named.)
That still sounds like 25 A/C net growth at GJ to me.
However, none of that says anything about Delta's A/C at GJ.
AND, it's worth pointing out...many of the announcements also said "final details still to be worked out."
So.......stay tuned

DL and G7, I don’t think DL knows what they are gonna do yet. I think they know what they want to do. But what they want to do and what they actually do are two different things. I do however think the DL 700s are on their way out.
Whether the extra 25 become growth or replacement for DL flying, it’s still good news for G7’s pilot group - just don’t accept a lower rate to fly them as 50 seaters.

FWIW, I've heard the contract with DL is good until about 2023/24...so, even IF they do go away - it shouldn't be soon.
