IOE
Any G7 pilots care to chime in their checkride date and how long you've had to wait so far? Finished my check a week ago and was just scheduled for observation. Is it normal they schedule observation and then no IOE for month or two or do they schedule observation when IOE is right around the corner. Appreciate any insight.

Let me tell you my horror story so far.
June class date, finally called to sims in September. 30+ days in STL for that.
October 1 checkride. No observation flight till December. December 22 had my first IOE flight worth a whole 7 hours. Had my second IOE trip 1/5 worth 13 hours. Now I’ll still need another IOE trip yet, can’t get a hold of Amanda and I have 49 days to consolidate with the extension.
Makes me regret coming here. Somehow my colleague that finished September 30 got an IOE trip worth 28 hours and has been done a month already, meanwhile I’m mentally preparing to go back to training to consolidate

Initial Operating Experience or just Operating Experience at some airlines. For your first 25 hours out of training you fly with a line check airman as a babysitter. Just to get you up to speed on normal operations instead of all the engine failures and systems faults you had in training.

EWR base and RIC base have a lot of day trips, but get stacked back to back, so unless you live in base you'll chew through commuter hotels pretty fast. In February they got rid of five day trips.
