GoJet Survival

Envoy, PSA, and Piedmont have almost doubled their pay. Skywest is about to do the same. Mesa? Republic? They will have to at least come close.

Gojet must have a plan. Anyone know how Gojet is going to compete on this? I guess paying triple time to some would be a great deal for some. Are people going to move over to an American regional or are there enough people satisfied with the triple pay?

Predictions? Insights?

90$ an hr (if we are lucky enough to see it) would be a step in the right direction but with less than 100 bidding CAs and FOs not flying it might be too little too late barring some kind of merger with ZW. But even they have their own problems.

Most FOs i know are either going lateral to AA and Skywest or getting hired at the ULCCs. Only a couple of the Aviate holdouts are planning staying. Godspeed to them.

Rumors are swirling that a pay increase is coming soon however even if they do match or surpass AA payrates (highly unlikely) it's a bit too litttle too late. Fewer than 100 bidding CAs and FOs are not flying therefore unable to qualify for upgrade. Many of the FOs Ive spoken to are either leaving laterally for another regional or are going to the ULCCs. The only ones planning on staying are the Aviate holdouts- Godspeed to them.

The only likely salvation this point is a merger with ZW, but even they have their own problems. Supposedly 550 conversions have also been halted. Perilous time for GoJet to be certain.

What do you mean "less than 100 bidding CAs and FOs"?

I have to agree. I believe that Gojet has less than 30 days of flying remaining, 60 at the most. What better time to wind it down than Sept or Oct? I feel bad for all of us who spent years flying for Gojet but not one person who ever worked for Gojet can say they did not see it coming. Gojet fired employees who came down with breast cancer, diabetes and other ailments. Why pay for 200k in breast cancer treatment when you can simply give her a checkride and find something to fail her for, you always can. After the Doctor was dragged off of a United flight, it cost United millions from the bad publicity. In August 2018 a jury ruled that Gojet had terminated a pilot to retaliate against him for taking medical leave. Looking at the way TSH conducted business Delta and American saw that doing business with TSH could be a public relations debacle. Gojet's days were numbered and the numbers are quickly counting down.

United has said it multiple times in the past year they want to get rid of the CRJs and transfer flying to mainline on new aircraft 737-Airbus. Gojet has been losing 10% of its captains a month and nobody upgrading or coming in. Id say 6 months MAX before they go out of business

Did you just add then cut and paste this. Sounds oddly familiar.

Nobody should be lat-moving to SkyWest until our dissappointing TA is at least up for a vote.

FWIW We at SkyWest are still in the dark about our TA, but there have been some small leaks about it that seem to check out. I would not expect SkyWest to raise the bar in terms of pay. Expect a significant jump from where we are now, but to pale in comparison to what Envoy got. Hope you guys get something in less time than it has taken us.
