Why do you stay?
 

I have a question. There have never been more opportunities in the industry for pilots in my 20 years. Why do people stay at the sinking ship of Gojet?

This isn't Gojet bashing it's just there are so many better opportunities for pilots.

Some don’t know any better. Some like living in base. Some are lifers or are just stuck.

I agree with you. I certainly would not recommend anyone to go there.

Half their fleet is parked and they’re offering large bonus’ for DEC’s and is one of the only regionals currently hiring FO’s (there’s a reason).

I’d say not many are staying.

Why do you care ?

A lot of us have morbid curiosity. Human nature.

Why?

They saw how GJ treated people. They saw GJ ruin people's lives to save a little money.

They hate GJ and want to see it die.

It's kind of like routing against the Nazis, the Devil, Joseph Stalin, Idi Admin, Pol Pot, and the Duke Basketball team, all at once. You want to see them die to stop the destruction of humanity.

What are the other airlines who are currently hiring FOs? I'm a CFI with <100 hours to go for R-ATP (1000 hrs requirement).

I need a damn airline job and I keep hearing nobody is hiring!

Envoy appears to be hiring at R-ATP mins again. They have been filling classes every month, mostly with pilots with prior Part 121 time, but they seem to be running out of those. Envoy doesn’t plan their new hire classes much more than a month ahead, so if they give you an actual start date it won’t be too far out. It’s better to apply to more than one airline in case classes get delayed.

This reply just made my day! I just sent in my application last night :) Envoy is my goal airline! The Miami base and ERJ seem awesome (even though Miami is senior).
