Exactly. These chumps are trying to circumvent the collective barganing agreement between TSA and ALPA pilots. Not good.

Exactly. Go there and you will be considered a scab. I carry a book with all the Freedom pilots in my bag. Dont even try to jumpseat on my airplane.

Until we all start sticking together in this industry, managements will continue to feast on us.

I had to laugh at this qualification for a FA:

"Must have flown at least once as a passenger"

That has to tell you alot about this place right there

Look. A scab is one who crosses a picket line, stealing jobs from STRIKING employees. Many of my associates have thrown the word "scab" around for the past few decades- including when commuters started flying RJ's and "taking our jobs from us" at the Majors. Commuter pilots were not scabs then and anyone who flys for this division is not now. As a long time ALPA member, I support collective bargaining but you need to fight when something occurs because its ILLEGAL- not just because you feel its unfair.

Look at THE WHOLE PICTURE guys- especially those of you new to the airline industry. You will find die hard union types (about 15 percent of the industry)that cannot see (or rather, refuse to see) anything but the "this isn't good for me so it must be illegal and we'll fight it" attitude. Most of those types (not all, but most) haven't had to actually work in the trenches to get where they are. Nothing is owed to you and even if you have worked hard, you still have to give your best for the company- they pay you for a job. Many of my associates forgot that a long time ago (and ironically it is in the ALPA definitions of an Airline Pilot)

As for GoJet- I will concede that Leach is taking some advantage of the situation, but this is not costing the Trans States guys their jobs; if anything, it is providing more stability to the company as a whole (think of buying various stocks instead of putting all you money into one specific one).

What is happening at GoJet is no different than anywhere else that feeds for American. Chautauqua created Republic to try and get around Americans agreement and still failed- that is why they had to purchase Shuttle America in order to continue to fly the EMB-170's. American is fining them $36,000 per day (yes, DAY) as long as they continue to fly after April 21st under. In this case, blame American.

Your real concern in applying to GoJet should be what would happen should United be belly up next month.

Good luck in your aviation career. Allways question things: from management, from your union and from your coworkers and mentors. Then make a decision. This is real-life gambling. Aviation.

I believe this people will never be able to jumpseat anywhere with anybody. That's what they get.

It might not be costing us our jobs YET, but if this GoJet thing goes through the way mgt wants it to, there is nothing preventing them from moving all the current TSA flying to the GoJet certificate(except the AA flying). It doesn't provide any more stability when they increase flying with the codeshare that is in the worst financial shape of all.

The worst part of this whole scheme is the precedent that it could set. If TSA mgt gets away with this, every pilot contract at ewvery airline will be threatened.

What's the GoJet pay scale like? Is it identical to TSA's?
