Gojet Question
Does anyone know what Gojet's requirement is for upgrading from F/O to Captain. Hours? Seat Lock? Any info would be helpful. I am currently a captain at a private op in a transport category turboprop but the company sucks. I was thinking of trying to slip into gojet with hopes of a quick upgrade with their RDU flying coming online.

I think the upgrade requires 4500 hours, and I haven't heard of any seat lock. Usually, before a company can start hiring street captains, they first have to release FOs who can bid the left seat. I don't know if the GoJetsss contract has that little nugget of common sense in it. |
Gojet will slip into you.
In before the lock. |
Upgrade time is 4500 total 1000 MEL, They give a 1 for 1 credit of company time upto 1,000 hours. So if you have 2500 hours now and then fly 1000 hours with the company, giving you 3500 total + 1000 company credit you meet your 4500 total for upgrade.
As far as quick upgrade, I would say, things are still moving and natural progression to upgrade will take place quicker at gojet then any other RJ operator. As for the RDU flying, The positions to fill that have already been hired, your about 3 months behind the curve. Their are rumors of more flying, I have nothing solid. Hope this aswers you question |

Then again, you are a Captain at the finest regional in the world... |
GoJet has the best reputation of any regional airline in the business. Even better than some majors. They are a high quality operation that has recently received acolades from Delta Airlines, and GoJet pilots are now Delta pilots as well. The Delta passengers really look up to GoJet pilots with the hats on in the terminals, and the leather jackets make them think that the pilots are all top gun class aviators too!
You don't know what you're missing, get on at GoJet today! |

Not again
