I can remember when all these airlines were pay for training (between 10 and 12 grand) and they were all told they were w***es and scabs for paying for their jobs and would never be able to get a job anywhere else. Not to mention they were stealing jobs from mainline. Fast foward ten years and all those guys that wanted to were able to get other jobs with no problem. Get over Gojet guys. They are a regional just like any else. Before you start slinging mud you better go look deep in the closet of your own airline because they are just as dirty as Gojet. And don't give me the Gojet story because I worked at TSA in customer service and know several of the guys involved in the whole Gojet mess. Many don't even work there anymore.
Regional airlines are like pigs in a trough constantly fighting over the scraps the farmer (mainline) throws at them. They sling mud at each other, but in the end they are all covered in mud. I also need to add IN BEFORE THE LOCK!!!! |
Nope. Big difference between a regional and an alter ego company. XJT did have pay for training but the guys raised the bar in the contract to get rid of that. When TSA tried to raise the bar there was a new company formed - and now they can't find guys fast enough because no one wants that stain on their resume. I know the original guy may not be 'in the know' as far as how GJs was created, but some just come on here looking for an excuse or justification.
As far as 'stealing from mainline', we've all said before - if you want it back then take it! Tighten scope and take the routes back. 99 percent of the regional guys want this. The GJ guys are too busy staring at Shiny objects like a simpleton.

Culling the herd, or educate the naive
Since every thread like this ends the same way, would it not be easier to:
1) Title a thread, "Use CAUTION when asking about GOJET" 2) Include a disclaimer about the animosity GJ questions draw on the boards. 3) Make the thread "sticky," so that it never drops off the top of the board. 4) Lock the thread so that it can't continue to fester. Perhaps the above may curtail naive GJ applicants from opening the same can of worms over and over on the forums without giving it additional thought. Mods: I'm not defending anyone's opinions here, but it might save everyone time, breath, and effort by making it very, very visible to new/ignorant APC members that he or she should think hard before bringing this up. I'm not advocating censorship, but discretion is the better part of valor... ...and none of these threads end tastefully. In before the lock. -Sultan |

Im not an airline guy but I read these boards almost everyday. I suggest you use the search function and type in gojets and you will see what kind of mistake you made starting this thread. It is entertaining though...
Just my 2/100 of a dollar. |
Mod Note:
Nobody is going to perform a sex act on himself/herself/itself, nobody is going to die in hell and nobody is eating fish poop. This thread, however, will be closed, just like every other GoJet thread. |
