The Next GoJet Thread...
Well, seeing as how after 2 years the last GoJet thread was finally locked, here's the next one.
In my humble opinion: If you live in base, an ok gig, not great, but driving to work is worthwhile. If you live elsewhere? Well, you decide. |
What's the point in starting a thread that is just a manhood measuring contest? Regional pilots are too immature to act civil and not start debates about "my airline is better"

In any event, no doubt the usual suspects will be along soon. |
how long is reserve?
upgrade is 18 months? how many numbers are guys moving a month? chances are i will get stuck in ord for a few months before i can bid to den or rdu? other than the whipsawing b.s. that i really dont care to understand nor do i want to. is it a good group of pilots to fly with? are credit and block the same? also i seriously need help with figuring out what to do about reading LIDO charts. i hate them and prefer jepps. i get confused on how to read them and thats the last thing i want to be doing in the sim. |

Plan to sit reserve 1 month at that most Yes 18 months. Upgrading 20 a month till I guess whenever they can't upgrade anymore. I've been here a year now and give or take moving up 10-20 senority numbers a month. You should be able to hold RDU right out of training. STL is the junior base though for FO's. From my experiences awesome group of guys to fly with. Never have had any problems so far. Of course every airline has that 2% but I haven't seen them yet. (Most of them are over at TSA). This isn't 2005 anymore. I've never been denied a jumpseat and most majors I jumpseat on they have no clue who GoJet even is. Lot of guys leaving to JBU and UAL at the moment so don't believe the crap people spill on here about tarnishing your career. I myself have an interview next month at another major 121 carrier so it's worked out for me. I don't need to say our contract sucks. It does. Really bad. We all know it and everyone in this industry knows it. Look how long TSA took to finally get theirs. But I will say whenever hell freezes over and we do get one it will be better than TSA's. And finally yes LIDO's do suck but we're still using Jepps now at the moment. No trial period has been approved for use of them in flight yet. That's all I got. Now to wait for the trolls. |
If you want your thread to stay free of all the TSA vitriol, then maybe you should just answer the guys questions without even mentioning TSA. Instead, you take several jabs at Trans States in your first post...you just can't help yourself I guess...smh.

ORD?
Plan on applying as soon as Monday. What are my chances if I get hired of being based at ORD right out of training?

As I've said on here before, I've had a good experience at GoJet thus far. I spent 1.5 months on reserve in ORD. I've had most weekends and almost every holiday off since I started (due to luck, I'm sure, but hey who cares). Each month I've been here I've been dropped from a trip for someone else's IOE, which means 16 days off and then picking up trips to credit 100+ hours. Not bad. Crews are great. There are some complainers but you will find that anywhere. I've been flying a lot and the 2ish year upgrades are real. I'm genuinely glad I came here.

Well since you brought up TSA, 2005 is still relevant because Delta is using your contract to force rate resets on other airlines.

Lol...I was just making a point. Wasn't gonna say anything disparaging about Gojet. It's all in good fun anyhow. Honestly, all the Gojet pilots I've met in person have been real cool. I'm not sure about the 2 posts that were deleted for personal information, but I wouldn't say anything on this forum that I wouldn't say to someone's face. I'm not one pf these a$$ clowns hiding behind a tough guy Internet persona.

Its not the line pilots who are the problem, its what management is willing to do to you to save a dollar. When your family needs the medical coverage that you have been paying for, you should not count on it being there. Don't count on the union to uphold your rights, they don't know how, they may want to but they don't what to do. I've been at good airlines and I've been at Gojet, there is a difference. Good luck with the interview TheGoldenJet, G7 will miss your recruiting efforts.

Could somebody explain what this means, "Not cancelation pay, the named honored hours, and the pay you at the end of the monht up to 98 % of your cancelled flights" ? It's from the airline profile page on here. Thanks!

GoJet has signed a deal with ATP for tuition reimbursement.
-interview at 300 hours and receive $5 per flight hour flown up to 1500TT. -once hired, receive $500 per month for the first year for tuition reimbursement. Has the union signed off on this? Thoughts? |

I'm overjoyed that the New Hire signing is being Upped. Now all we need is, a new contract and we are set.
As an aside, there are a TON of Gojet people moving on to Jetblue. So, ideally we can get more people in the door at G7 and continue to have a significant amount come to Blue...... then everyone wins. |
