2. Called and hired on Tuesday. Wednesday they announced they would be closing down. Eventually closed. 60 727s.

3. Hired for class the next month. Great airline to work for. Each month the class was pushed back for 18 months. Still around though.

I have had lots of friends in class at airlines that shut down while they were in class. An airline that cancels classes right now if they really have pilots ready to go there I would think, is about to shrink or shutdown? Better to train and have the guys. Eastern, Aloha, etc.

Best of luck everyone if the worst happens. In this environment the airline closing might be the fastest path to a major
Ha you think g6 is shutting down?

No, but no other airlines are cancelling classes (even if it is for the holidays) is his point. It means they probably aren't getting the number of applicants they need. There have always been lots of rumors that GoJet will lose their Delta or their United flying etc, but they've never lost it. I think a merger is the more likely scenario with some reduced flying and stagnation beforehand.

G7 is not shutting down, nor losing the Delta or United contract. Please go back to trolling the AWAC thread...

G7 is a small pilot group, with a small training dept that wants the holidays off. Not to mention that many trainees want to holidays off so they are consolidating 1 class. Latest pilot roster has us up 35 pilots over the year, meaning we are hiring more than losing.

Most junior CA with no prior 121 is at 14 months. I was hired in Feb and have over 120 pilots below me with 560 pilots total. There is quick movement with no stagnation here. Also, G7 is not talking of any mergers, which would be tough for TSH to do considering that G7 is Teamsters and TSA and CZ are ALPA.

Seriously, quick spreading dumb rumors and stick to trolling your AWAC or PSA threads...

BTW, performance numbers posted today are:
Delta Controllable completion 100%
United Controllable Completion 99.6%

I may be incorrect, but what I hear is that AWAC is also cancelling classes. If we are not cancelling them I know we have pushed back start dates and when we do have a class, it is filled by the 2 to 4 people that still think like mgmnt does and thinks this is 2005. WE ARE AIR WISCONSIN!!!!!!!

PDT cancelled a class, sort of.

They doubled a class - took 2 classes of 10 and made a single class of 20.

Same number of pilots, but a class was cancelled. It is all semantics. A cancelled class really doesn't mean much if the same number of pilots end up on property. So, if GoJet cancels a class, but those hired end up in different classes, it really doesn't matter.

In what way was I trolling? I said there have always been rumors but that you guys have never lost the flying? I have friends there too and they have told me that your new hire numbers certainly aren't what they used to be. Defensive much

The only reason that G7 didn't get kicked the curb like Comair and Freedom (which your numbers were worse than Freedom ever was in NYC) was because Republic bailed you guys out with a bankruptcy and a parking of Delta airplanes. Then Delta inexplicably bailed you out again when they moved you (a lessor product) to Detroit, to move the quality product into NYC.

Not defensive at all actually.. I've watched you post dumb rumors in multiple threads, starting crap and being called a troll. G7 has historically been around a mid 500's pilot size group, and to date we are at about 560... The fact we have lost a ton of people from our top, and keeping up with attrition says that our hiring numbers are fine. I see you post the same dumb crap on here at JC as well, just gets old.

Funny, you and I have had some pretty good conversations over at JC over the past couple years, never got the high and mighty thing from you... Republic never bailed out G7, they did however help out US Airways, which in turn bailed out Mesa. I worked at RAH for a couple years, know the the back story. Does G7 have skeletons in the closet, absolutely. Have they been trying to air them out, move forward and try to be a good workplace? In my opinion, yes. I've been treated very well, and honestly don't have much to complain about at all. As far as performance numbers, well if you saw the condition of the old Comair planes that Delta gave us, you'd understand. Not to mention 900's that we bought had been mothballed for about 10 years. The had a lot of cobwebs to be cleaned out.

Do you have any idea why classes are canceled? I got an email 3 days before my class started letting me know my class had been cancelled, the letter also stated "please do not contact us, we will contact you"when new hire classes resume. I'm very surprised, all the recruiting people, Tammy Hoevel, have all been great. It's almost like I'm dealing with two different airlines. I would have appreciated some sort of update, but no one is even returning calls. I realize the letter requested that I wait for someone to contact me, but cancellation on a Friday with a Monday start??? I hired a Nanny for my kids which I'm obligated under a 6 month contract, and it's not cheap at all. I just wanted some clarity and why the cancel at the 11th hour.
