Every regional is desperate right now. GoJet is less desperate than some regionals, and more desperate than others. You're seriously asking if they'll shutdown? I actually laughed out loud when I read that. Any airline, regional or mainline, can "shutdown" at any time in this crazy industry.

I'm getting the impression that GoJet is hiring a large amount of street captains to bolster their FO numbers. Looking at the bid awards for May there are 9 total FO reserves for all 4 bases and 15+ captain reserves in each base. That doesn't sound like a company that needs to be hiringstreet captains
I think GoJet is using he street captain as a recruitment tool, rather than increasing the recruiting bonus or offering a retention package for FOs. Also a reserve captain only cost the company $68 hr while a critical FO trip cost the company $78 hr.
Just be forewarned that if you accept a street hire position at GoJet there is a very big probability that you will be flying a large amount in the right seat.

United gave GoJet the Aspen flying with the intent of taking it away from SkyWest (they got too expensive). While GoJet was in the process of developing the Aspen training program, SkyWest lowered their price, so United had them keep the flying instead of giving it to GoJet. Simply put, United used GoJet as a bargaining chip to get SkyWest to keep their prices down.

United didn't give blowjet anything, they said "hey, go try to get an aspen certification so we can have you fly there." Obviously much more difficult than they thought, or more work than they wanted to put in, the FAA laughed at them and sent them packing. i.e. skywest keeps the aspen flying because they're the only ones that can fly there except envoy
